POSITION TITLE: Lead Spirit Product Advisor, Legacy Liquor Store

POSITION SUMMARY:
Legacy Liquor Store’s Product Advisors are our front-line staff, providing our customers with helpful, knowledgeable advice in an enthusiastic, upbeat, and unpretentious manner. They are beverage-alcohol and retail professionals with extensive product knowledge (either self-taught or certified through an organization such as Prud’homme, CSS, WSET/ISG, or the Society of Wine Educators). Bartending experience and cocktail knowledge an asset. Team member must be able to multitask during busy periods an demonstrate initiative and drive during slower times. They maintain Legacy standards of service and professionalism, ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through provision of excellent service, and drive sales and foster growth through continual development (formal and informal) of product knowledge. We’re looking for dynamic spirits enthusiasts to join our team to help maintain our fastest growing category.
WORK PERFORMED:
- General service (maintaining a positive, upbeat, engaging attitude and approach; answering customer questions and assisting whenever possible; answering phones, assisting with tasting events; maintaining the general cleanliness and tidiness of the store; fostering a positive, team-oriented work environment)
- Sales (including recommendations, home cocktail suggestions, limited bottle release collection, etc) focused on the customer’s preferences and budget.
- Department maintenance (stocking & organizing shelves, counting inventory, building displays, printing price tags, general cleaning / dusting etc)
- Cashier shifts (quickly and accurately processing cash and credit card transactions, processing returns, providing general assistance to customers)
- Private event hosting, sales, and education
- Inventory and stock maintenance
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent professional presentation and communication skills—additional language(s) an asset
- Formal training in spirits preferred.
- SIR Certification
- Cash / credit card handling experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position requires a strong presence on the sales floor. Candidate must be comfortable standing for long periods of time, be comfortable repeatedly lifting cases of wine, beer, and spirits (up to 20 kg), be comfortable kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders, and have experience with various POS systems. Shifts required include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
