Business Controller

To take leadership in driving the Business Control processes for the Epiroc Product company and Customer Center in Canada (YieldPoint Brand). In this supporting and acting as a” co-pilot” to the General Manager. Responsible for developing and implementing accounting policies, controls and procedures utilized by the company, operational reporting to local management, government, and other external requirements in accordance with the guidelines of the Group. An important part of the role will be liaisons with management at divisional level and group functions. Work with the IT Department to maximize the automation of processes, secure Company information and reduce functional costs. Serve as main contact point between the operations and Epiroc CoE hub.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Financial Management & Reporting- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with HQ and regulatory standards.
- Conduct financial analysis including forecasting, variance analysis, and profitability reviews.
- Manage cash flow planning and reporting.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Design, implement, and monitor internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP), tax regulations, and internal policies.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including documentation and follow-up.
- Participate in annual testing of key financial and business controls.
Inventory & Cost Control
- Oversee inventory control processes including cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
- Analyze inventory trends, slow-moving and obsolete stock, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with supply chain and operations to optimize inventory and cost efficiency.
Process & Policy Development
- Develop, document, and maintain financial and operational policies and procedures.
- Identify process inefficiencies and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure alignment with HQ standards and local operational needs.
Strategic & Operational Support
- Act as a financial co-pilot to the General Manager, supporting strategic planning and decision-making. Prepare investment proposals and business cases with appropriate financial analysis.
- Participate in business reviews, CRM meetings, and strategic scorecard reporting.
- Serve as the main point of contact for HQ finance and IT teams regarding financial systems and data integrity.
- Maintain a high level of accounting knowledge (FAM, IFRS and GAAP) with the capacity to develop a solid understanding of our products, the market, the sales process and how these processes work within the structural regulatory framework established within “the way”
- Work cooperatively with all departments in a spirit of teamwork to address problem areas and stimulate after market sales.
- Safeguard the assets of the company in general and reveal no information to competitors or outside parties, which could be harmful to our business.
- Manage in the best interest of the company, those assets entrusted to you, these may include but are not limited to, computers, phones, faxes, and products.
- Use the budgeted resources available to you in the most cost-effective way for promoting the company’s business.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Five to Seven7 years of experience in finance, accounting, or business control roles.
- Solid background in internal controls, financial reporting, and inventory management.
- Experience in a small or medium-sized enterprise (SME) or international environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, M3), and business intelligence tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
