Graymont is seeking a highly motivated Account Manager to support its sustainable development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in industrial and/or chemical product sales, coupled with the technical knowledge and skills to effectively manage existing business relationships and develop new opportunities. An interest in lime manufacturing and its various applications is also essential. Reporting to the Director of Sales and Distribution Eastern Region, this role requires a candidate who can work autonomously while collaborating effectively with all departments.
Responsibilities:
Ø Apply technical and chemical knowledge and skills to the lime industry to optimize business relationships while actively contributing to maintaining and developing client accounts.
Ø Proactively lead a strategic customer account planning process, developing mutual performance objectives.
Ø Maintain close relationships with clients at various organizational levels, including senior management, operations, technical services, and supply chain.
Ø Identify and develop growth opportunities by collaborating with customer service, marketing, operations, logistics, finance, and other Graymont functions to capitalize on these opportunities.
Ø Negotiate pricing and contract terms with current and potential customers to achieve the company's profitability goals.
Ø Understand customers' diverse operations to provide technical support regarding the use and handling of our products. Work collaboratively with plant personnel to meet customer expectations for product quality.
Ø Develop a key understanding of the overall lime market and its various challenges (supply chain, competition).
Ø Participate in preparing the sales budget and operational plans, and regularly provide accurate updates to sales forecasts.
Ø Adhere to established sales processes, including the use of various tools for producing reports and statistics required by the director.
Ø Support the credit department regarding overdue accounts and assist in their collection.
Qualifications:
Ø Strong Technical and/or Chemical Knowledge: Demonstrates, with concrete examples, a deep understanding of chemical and technical concepts to solve complex challenges and provide innovative solutions in a constantly evolving environment.
Ø Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, technical studies (engineering, chemistry, etc.), or a similar discipline. Equivalent experience will be considered.
Ø Software Proficiency: Proficient in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ø Professional Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of experience in sales. Experience in industrial markets and the mining sector is an asset.
Ø Beneficial Experience: Operational experience to understand customer pain points and the practical application of products.
Ø Travel: Ability to travel within the Eastern Canada region (estimated 30% to 50%) and occasionally across North America.
Ø Communication: Bilingual proficiency in English and French is required
