Job Description

AAA Canada is looking for an Assembler Fitter to enrich our team with their expertise. The candidate will be required to read and interpret manufacturing and installation plans, plan, trace patterns of various shapes, cut, shape, assemble, and adjust sheet metal and plate parts or any other shape used in structures and assemblies. They will also be required to perform all operations necessary for the assembly, adjustment, repair, modification, and installation of all types of mechanical, electromechanical, and hydraulic parts and/or assemblies, manufacture parts, and perform complex adjustments. Finally, they must assemble, align, and install the visual components required for the assembly and installation of the mirror retention system; install the mirror itself (including the mirror vacuum control system to seal the vacuum effectively); and perform the measurements and adjustments required by the visual systems according to the conditions, criteria, and specifications required for the position.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret work instructions and procedures, plans, schematic diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Perform modification, repair, assembly, alignment, and installation work on non-mechanical components on the non-simulated part (rear of the simulator).
  • Perform assembly, adjustment, and installation work on the mechanical, electromechanical, and hydraulic components of the simulator.
  • Perform preliminary manufacturing and assembly work for the installation of visual systems; prepare the mirror for the visual system; assemble, align, and install the mirror retention system; installation of the various structural components of a visual system; installation of the various optical components of a visual system, including installation and adjustment of the mirror; detection of errors and imperfections on any installed part.
  • Know and apply concepts related to the properties of the materials used.
  • Use measuring instruments, assembly tools, and the following cutting and shaping machine tools: band saw, manual and hydraulic shears, and profile bender.
  • Install fasteners and rivets according to the requirements of drawings, diagrams, and work procedures.
  • Produce rolled and embossed parts.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Vocational diploma in aeronautical sheet metal work or aircraft structure assembly, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of precision standards and occupational health and safety rules, particularly WHMIS.
  • Familiarity with spot welding procedures.
  • A minimum of six (6) months of relevant experience.
