At Synthesis Health, we are committed to transforming healthcare through innovative technology, leveraging AI/ML and scalable, native cloud architectures to build solutions that make a meaningful difference. Our engineering team is at the heart of this mission, and we are looking for individuals who are passionate about building secure, scalable, and compliant systems.

About The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Manager to lead our Application Development team. You will be a key engineering leader, responsible for guiding the Frontend and Full Stack engineers who build the intuitive, high-performance applications that our customers rely on every day. You will focus on driving product delivery, technical excellence, and the professional growth of engineers who are deployed across our cross-functional Core and Vision delivery teams.

If you are a leader who is passionate about building high-performing product-focused teams, delivering exceptional user experiences, and shaping the applications that are transforming healthcare, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team: Build, lead, and mentor a team of talented Frontend and Full Stack developers. You will be responsible for hiring, performance management, and creating career development plans that foster technical and professional growth within a matrixed, cross-functional team environment.
  • Drive Application Delivery and Execution: Partner closely with Product Management, UX Design, and delivery team leads to ensure the successful and timely delivery of our product roadmap. You will be accountable for your team's execution quality and their contributions to our product goals.
  • Foster Software Development and Product Excellence: Cultivate a strong engineering culture focused on user-centricity, quality, and velocity. You will guide the team in frontend and backend best practices, manage technical debt, and ensure the delivery of well-tested and maintainable code.
  • Champion Your Software Developers: Ensure your developers are equipped to excel within their cross-functional delivery teams. You will guide their technical strategy, help prioritize efforts to address architectural issues, and ensure they have the support and context needed to succeed.
  • Collaborate and Influence Across the Organization: Work closely with leaders from Platform Development, Quality, and AI to ensure your teams have the tools and support they need. You will represent your team's technical perspective and capacity in planning discussions and to senior leadership.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven Software Development Leadership: 7+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in a people management role leading application, product, or full-stack engineering teams.
  • Deep Technical Acumen: A strong technical background in designing and building modern, single-page web applications and their supporting backend services. You must have the credibility to lead and challenge a team of senior engineers working with Angular and Node.js.
  • Product-Focused Vision: The ability to partner effectively with product and design counterparts to translate a product vision into a concrete, actionable technical strategy for your team.
  • Expertise with Modern Tech Stacks: A strong understanding of the principles and technologies behind our application stack:
  • Modern frontend frameworks (Angular strongly preferred) and TypeScript.
  • Building and consuming RESTful APIs with Node.js.
  • Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP preferably) and microservices architectures.
  • Excellent Communication and Influence Skills: You can clearly articulate a product and technical vision to a wide range of audiences, from engineers on your team to executive stakeholders.
  • A Passion for Developing People: You have a demonstrated ability to hire, coach, and grow engineers, building a cohesive, inclusive, and motivated team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare Domain Experience: Your application will stand out if you have experience leading teams that build clinical software. Deep familiarity with clinical workflows, medical imaging viewers (DICOM), and compliance regulations (HIPAA) is a significant advantage.
  • Experience in an Agile/Cross-Functional Environment: A strong track record of managing engineers who are embedded in agile, cross-functional product delivery teams.
  • Experience in a High-Growth Environment: Experience scaling teams and product features in a fast-paced company.

  • Shape the Future of Healthcare Delivery: You will be a key leader defining the user experience and capabilities of our platform, transforming how healthcare is delivered.
  • Build an Exceptional Team and Culture: This is a chance to build and scale a world-class application engineering team and establish a culture of product excellence and innovation.
  • Competitive Compensation & Benefits: We offer a strong salary, meaningful equity, a 100% remote culture, and significant opportunities for growth.
