Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Manager, Corporate Accounting to join our finance team, reporting directly to the Corporate Controller. In this key role, you will lead the monthly financial close process, prepare consolidated financial statements, coordinate with external auditors, and support tax provision and compliance activities.

The ideal candidate brings a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to financial and regulatory reporting requirements. Location: Vancouver, BC

Compensation : $110,000 ~ $130,000

What You Will Do

  • Coordinate the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes in collaboration with divisional accounting teams, FP&A, Shared Services, and Operations
  • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements in accordance with ASPE and US GAAP
  • Coordinate and manage interim and year-end external audit processes
  • Prepare and review of corporate tax provisions and compliances for Canadian and U.S. entities by collaborating with external tax advisors
  • Prepare and manage high-quality tax working papers and documentation to meet audit and compliance requirements
  • Oversee and coordinate commodity tax filings and provide responses for tax-related audits
  • Support corporate tax planning, tax modeling, and interpreting legislative changes relevant to the organization
  • Prepare technical accounting memos and support key disclosures related to complex accounting issues
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support corporate initiatives and executive decision-making
  • Provide accurate financial data to support annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning and regulatory reporting
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects, process improvement initiatives, and system enhancements (e.g., reporting automation) that support accounting efficiency and data quality
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor accounting staff to promote continuous improvement and professional development

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) is required
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including public practice and in-house corporate roles
  • Demonstrated ability to manage corporate tax provision and compliance processes effectively
  • Strong technical expertise in Canadian ASPE, US GAAP, and applicable Canadian and U.S. tax legislation
  • Proven experience preparing consolidated financial statements and leading audit engagements
  • Experience working in infrastructure, utilities, energy, or regulated industries is considered an asset
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret financial data and present actionable recommendations
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, formula auditing)
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and decision-making in high-pressure situations
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • ERP system experience and comfort supporting upgrades or system improvements
  • Encourages a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous learning
