Allient Inc. is currently looking for a Systems Engineer to join our team in London, Ontario! The Systems Engineer will facilitate the definition, design, qualification, integration and production launch of systems and subsystems utilizing Allient core building blocks of mechanical/ electrical integration and system lightweighting. Responsibilities:

  • System architecture definition based on customer and applicable reference standards, derived requirements, system and subsystem schematics and interfaces, first order system sizing, creative solutions, meeting business objectives.
  • Validation and verification leadership including the development and qualifications of test plans and procedures, pass/fail criteria, integration and manufacturing test equipment needs, leading sub-system integration and testing activities, leading customer vehicle integration activities. Compliance matrix, FEMEA
  • Utilize effective analysis, modelling and simulation methods, system definition and performance, reliability and availability analysis, functional safety assessment, detailed, risk mitigation planning and execution.
  • Requirements management including subsystem definition, sub-tier and derived requirements creation, requirement allocations, sub system and system level tolerance analysis, requirements traceability, means of requirements planning.
  • Proposal support including preparation of technical definition, compliance matrices, free-body diagrams, system level block diagrams, interface definition (hardware, software, mechanical), etc.
  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring to intermediate and junior engineers

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering.
  • 8+ years of direct engineering experience
  • Experience with mechanical systems, weldments, metal fabrication, motors, gearing, ball screws, electronics, software, etc. is preferred.
  • Experience with FRP, and CFRP composites is preferred
  • SolidWorks and Ansys experience preferred
  • Experience with Miliary Defense programs, military vehicles, military primes and/or Tier 1 suppliers, ITAR and government contracting is preferred.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate across with customers and internally with various internal team members most often virtually.
