The Branch Human Resources Generalist, under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, will support the Human Resources Department of the branch in creating, implementing, and monitoring policies, procedures, and programs that enhance the collective functioning of the branch. The Branch Human Resources Generalist will collaborate closely with the Area Director, Human Resources Manager, and Human Resources Business Partner to address issues pertaining to Recruitment, Employee Relations, and the execution of strategic HR projects within the branch.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with recruitment and selection of Administrative and/or Supervisory employees as directed by the Human Resources Manager. Post job opportunities online as needed.
  • Arrange and complete admin staff interviews. Complete reference checks.
  • Conduct orientation sessions for new Admin hires, explaining HR policies, workplace practices, and benefits.
  • Handle payroll and wage progression submissions.
  • Create monthly newsletters, HR Tips, Health & Safety Tips
  • Manage tracking spreadsheets for new hires.
  • Run the social committee for admin staff.
  • Manage registered staff CPR list.
  • Maintain personal admin attendance trackers and whereabouts.
  • Coordinate field/admin Employee Engagement activities.
  • Creating employment & portability letters for Field employees.
  • Processing new hire portability letters.
  • Handles payroll and benefits-related inquiries and assist employees to complete forms.
  • Offer day-to-day HR support and guidance to branch staff on employee relations matters.
  • Audit prep and participation.
  • Regularly updates branch specific forms and policies.
  • Support disciplinary and counseling processes for employees as directed by the Human Resources Manager.
  • Coordinate training sessions and seminars to enhance employee skills and promote a positive work environment.
  • Participate in performance management processes, advising managers on HR best practices while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives that support organizational goals.
  • Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
  • Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System.
  • Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.
  • Complete other tasks as requested.
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date Admin employee human resource records including copies of current professional registration and continuing education documentation.
  • Engage in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Responsible for notifying immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns. Must complete Accident Reports for all staff injuries on the job within 24 hours of the incident.
  • Stay informed on provincial legislation related to Employment Standards, Human Rights, Workplace Health and Safety, and Labour laws; assist in addressing potential or actual violations under the guidance of the Human Resources Manager.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Branch Human Resources Generalist reports directly to the Human Resources Manager. This role also requires close collaboration with the Area Director, Human Resources Business Partner and may involve coordination with the National Service Centre and Branch Office staff as necessary to effectively manage HR functions and support branch operations.

Qualifications:
Education

Minimum Human Resources diploma or in progress. CHRP designation an asset.

Experience

Minimum 3+ years of progressive and varied Administration and Human Resources work experience with a focus on employee relations. Experienced user of technology including MS Office, and PowerPoint. Familiar with relevant federal and provincial legislation including labour codes, employment standards, and human rights.

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
