  • Provide environmental awareness training to project staff, including subcontractors.
  • Participate in safety briefings, field kick-off meetings, and work coordination meetings.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure environmental and regulatory compliance, documenting observations, best practices implemented, areas for improvement, instances of non-compliance, and collecting evidence to support compliance.
  • Implement soil and water sampling plans in accordance with provincial and federal guidelines to collect environmental quality data that can be used as performance indicators.
  • Respond to planned and unplanned environmental emergencies that result or could result in impacts on receiving environments.
  • Prepare regular and rigorous environmental monitoring reports, as well as environmental incident and spill reports.
  • Take the environmental management system into account in the performance of duties, monitor performance indicators, and contribute to the achievement of corporate environmental objectives.

  • Knowledge and experience in forest clearing, road construction and culvert installation in wetlands and water environments, erosion and sedimentation control, and runoff management.
  • Be both independent and able to work effectively as part of a team.
