BWXT Medical is hiring a Process Engineering Eng - 24 month at our production facility in Kanata, ON.
Location: On-site; 447 March Road, Kanata, ON
Job Purpose
Performs and is responsible for varied engineering, scientific or applied scientific related to the establishment of new company products or projects of significant scope and complexity. Is responsible for the planning, and development of a product or project to meet prescribed objectives. Required to act as a technical specialist in the area of competence.
Accountabilities
Under general guidance directs and supervises project activities including:
Normally University Bachelors Degree in Engineering or an appropriate discipline plus 8 years relevant experience, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of specialization beyond the graduation level. In some positions, a formal and recognized professional membership may be required.

Accountabilities
Under general guidance directs and supervises project activities including:
- Coordinates project activities by:
- understanding and organizing project objectives
- planning the activities required to complete the project identifying resources required
- establishing schedules
- Carries out, or directs the technical activities necessary to ensure that the objectives of the assigned project are met, by specifying, analyzing, calculating, testing and interpreting.
- Contributes in field of expertise to several projects simultaneously. Is recognized as a technical specialist in given discipline, providing expert assistance to other departments or groups in solving complex problems.
- Exercises cost responsibility for the assigned project and works to achieve product cost objectives.
- Maintains good records of all calculations, design studies, experiments, tests and estimates, following standard practices where they have been established.
- Establishes and maintains the necessary interdepartmental liaison relating to projects.
- Monitors and reports project progresses and provides solution alternatives for reported problems.
- Installs and services company products in field of expertise, as required.
- Performs experiments or tests with outcomes that have a high degree of uncertainty.
- May design, build and test prototypes of high novelty equipment or processes. Also may conduct failure investigations.
- May also perform hands-on production or development work to lead or train other staff.
- May also act as a witness in development or production processes.
- May represent the Company on committees, boards, panels, study groups and/or commissions -national and international.
- Performs other related engineering or scientific duties as required.

- A capacity to understand, interpret and explain complex technical systems or phenomena.
- A detailed knowledge and experience in one or more pertinent disciplines, or sub-disciplines, and must have a general appreciation for, and understanding of other specialties and disciplines.
- Must be capable of working co-operatively with others, or as part of a project team.
- Must be resourceful, creative and reliable.
- Must have a good knowledge of and appreciation for Company operating policies, procedures and practices.
- Must demonstrate personal qualities of initiative, and set appropriate standards of technical performance such that the project staff is motivated to meet, or exceed project requirements.
