Eisan Consulting is looking for a Vice President of Operations and Business Development to join our team onsite in our Calgary location.


Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Operations and Business Development is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of day-to-day operations ensuring a strategic alignment with organization goals. This includes leadership in finance and accounting, budgeting, forecasting, P&L management, quality assurance, recruitment, staff development and compliance with service level agreements and regulations.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations including Finance, and accounting, budgeting, and forecasting, profit and loss, recruiting, administration, staff development, quality assurance, sales, marketing, and public relations.
  • Manage departments to ensure timelines are met.
  • Provide support to all departments/assessors and customers as needed.
  • Ensure business meets service level agreements, client expectations and government regulations.
  • Handle appropriate complaints and resolves issue in a timely fashion so as to optimize the clients experience.
  • Act as project manager on RFPs/RFIs, coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure quality submissions.
  • Drive business development efforts, including sales and marketing; attend relevant industry events; travel, as necessary.
  • Monitor and respond to changes in OH legislation and industry trends.
  • Oversee QA processes and credentialing of medical evaluators; serve as liaison with legal professionals and evaluators.
  • Participate in educational seminars.
  • Provide regular operational and strategic reporting to Senior Leadership.
  • Liaison between President and staff; and perform all other duties as assigned.


ESSENTIAL MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carrying out all responsibilities in accordance with the company’s standards, policies, and all applicable employment laws.
  • Managing and monitoring workflow and providing support, training, and techniques to assist staff in achieving department daily/weekly/monthly goals and standards.
  • Encouraging positive morale, maintaining harmony among staff, and resolving grievances when necessary.
  • Overseeing the completion and approval of employee timecards and coordinating overtime needs with management and staff as needed.
  • Actively participating in the department’s staffing requirements including hiring, onboarding, and separating of employees.
  • Creating and implementing plan to meet department’s goals and metrics based on workload and client needs.
  • Communicating change effectively and supporting those affected by change.
  • Managing insubordinate staff when warranted and initiating coaching or corrective actions as required and/or directed by upper management.
  • Evaluating staff needs and performance, providing periodic feedback to staff and reporting any performance concerns and/or recommendations growth opportunities to management.
  • Actively participating and successfully conducting annual performance evaluations


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration; master’s degree preferred.
  • Previous Business management experience and Energy sector experience an asset.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have background in Occupational Health, Disability Management, or other healthcare field; business management experience; Energy sector experience an asset.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and understand OH/DM Operations to provide efficient workflow to all staff.
  • Must be willing and able to commit to excellence in customer service and providing exceptional customer service Internally and externally.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, internet navigation and general office equipment.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and remain composed under pressure or in stressful conditions; adapts well to change and promotes a positive team environment.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to follow all company policies and procedures in effect at time of hire and as they may change or be added from time to time.
