The Impact You Will Have

The Supervisor, Identity and Messaging Architect plays a critical role in guiding both the Softchoice Workplace Identity and Messaging team and our customer organizations through the complex process of identity and messaging environments. As the Supervisor, Identity and Messaging Architect, you will provide expert advice and hands-on leadership in designing, planning, and executing Microsoft Identity and Messaging strategies. You will assess current IT landscapes, recommend best-fit solutions, and architect secure, scalable, and efficient identity and messaging infrastructures. The work ensures seamless integration with minimal disruption, optimizing performance and cost-efficiency. By leveraging your expertise, you enable organizations to innovate, enhance agility, and achieve digital transformation objectives, ultimately driving business growth and customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Do

You will lead and oversee implementation and migration of Microsoft Identity and Messaging solutions, including Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Entra ID, Google to Microsoft, and Microsoft Tenant to Tenant migrations. This role involves collaborating with customers to understand their business needs and technical requirements, and then designing tailored identity and messaging solutions. You will be responsible for defining and improving upon identity and messaging methodologies and leverage your team to build supporting artifacts and enable team members to thrive in migration delivery. You will coach your team members to the standards you define in pursuit of efficiency of execution.

Responsibilities Include

  • Manage a small team of direct reports holding them accountable to annual goals
  • Define and improve upon identity and messaging methodologies
  • Coach immediate reports as well as additional team members to standards of team practices
  • Conduct detailed discovery and assessments of current environments
  • Develop comprehensive implementation and migration strategies, and implement best practices for identity and messaging architecture
  • Ensure the security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of the solutions.
  • Provide strategic guidance and hands-on technical support to facilitate seamless transitions and optimize identity and messaging deployments
  • Assume technical leader role during design and implementation of technology solutions, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Mentor team members in identity and messaging practices
  • Document processes, including configuration, issues encountered, and solutions implemented
  • Provide regular proactive reports on the progress of projects to project managers, project team, and customers
  • Responsiveness and leadership in Practice Improvement initiatives such as developing and maintaining automation scripts to streamline the process
  • Timely timesheet submission and detailed work notes
  • Inspection of team member timesheet submission


What You’ll Bring To The Table

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in IT, with a focus on identity and messaging architecture and migration
  • Experience leading teams through successful identity and messaging projects
  • The ability to lead project work, while managing team member workloads
  • Experience in consulting or customer-facing roles, with a track record of delivering successful identity and messaging projects across various industries
  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with major platforms: Microsoft and Google Workplace.
  • Proficiency in identity and messaging architecture, services, and tools specific to each platform
  • Proven experience in designing[RP1] [AA2] scalable identity and messaging environments
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Quest Migration Tools, and Google Workplace
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerShell
  • Knowledge of Microsoft security best practices and identity and access management (IAM),
  • Experience with compliance frameworks and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2)
  • Strong project management skills with a focus on Waterfall and Agile methodology[RP3] [AA4] , including the ability to plan, coordinate, and lead cloud migration projects
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design innovative solutions that address business challenges
  • Certifications: Administering / Configuring Windows Server Hybrid (core and advanced), Quest On-Demand Migration for M365 and Active Directory
  • Travel expectation up to 10% - dependent on customer needs
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience


Pay Range For Chicago

The typical pay range for this role is $119,935 to $141,100.

Note: the pay range represents the full pay range for this position. Each individual offer will take into consideration a range of factors, including prior experience and geographic location.

In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible for additional elements of compensation including (cell allowances, annual bonus, commissions etc.), as well as a comprehensive benefits plan
