Roles & Responsibilities:
- Mission:
- Drive profitable sales of Sansom Equipment products within the industrial sector across all regions of Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Build and maintain strong business relationships with industrial clients, fostering long-term loyalty and repeat business.
- Deliver exceptional customer service with consistent, prompt follow-up.
- Maintain a focused, professional presence as a Sansom brand ambassador in the industrial marketplace.
- Sales Development
- Proactively identify, pursue, and close sales opportunities in the industrial market.
- Educate clients on the value and technical functionality of Sansom’s industrial equipment solutions.
- Maintain consistent customer engagement through regular in-person and virtual meetings.
- Collaborate with vendor reps and engineering consultants to influence product specifications and gain competitive advantage.
- Account Management
- Understand client operations to recommend suitable products and solutions that meet specific industrial needs.
- Establish a structured call schedule to prioritize key accounts and prospects.
- Maintain high visibility with existing accounts while constantly prospecting new opportunities.
- Record detailed sales activity, client interactions, and opportunities in NetSuite CRM.
- Sales Process Execution
- Monitor industrial-specific public tender platforms and review bid documents to assess opportunities.
- Work with inside sales and vendor partners to prepare competitive bids, including “approved equal” requests where applicable.
- Coordinate technical resources and support to help customers through the purchase decision process.
- Ensure accurate quoting, estimate follow-up, and order entry via NetSuite.
- Reporting & Metrics
- Maintain and report sales activities including estimates, sales orders, invoices, and lead conversions using NetSuite tools.
- Participate in monthly reviews with the Branch Manager on sales metrics, open opportunities, and progress toward targets.
- Conduct monthly profitability reviews on major orders
- Share territory insights, competition trends, and growth strategies with the sales team during internal meetings.
- Professional Development & Promotion
- Attend industrial trade shows and networking events in Newfoundland & Labrador as approved in the budget planning.
- Participate in vendor-led online training modules and product certifications to deepen industry knowledge and selling strategies.
- Represent Sansom Equipment with professionalism at all industry and client-facing functions.
- Other Requirements
- Maintain a minimum of 60% of the work week dedicated to outside sales calls and customer visits.
- Follow internal procedures regarding credit checks, order approvals, and payment terms negotiations.
- Collaborate with colleagues in sales, service, and technical support to ensure seamless customer experience and account growth.
- Fulfill additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Branch Manager to meet evolving business needs.
