About The Role

ATB Financial is seeking an AVP Enterprise Market Risk to lead our Enterprise Market Risk Management team. This pivotal role oversees market risk for both traditional and complex financial products, including fixed income, equity, and derivatives. You'll be instrumental in developing and implementing robust risk measurement and monitoring processes for banking and trading books, ensuring alignment with established limits and policies.

This role also leads a Strategic Delivery team driving technology initiatives to build out our Financial Risk Management infrastructure and data architecture. You will provide critical oversight for FRM model processes, performance, and integrity, including VaR model oversight and back-testing.

We're looking for a strategic thinker who can integrate diverse concepts into actionable risk strategies, challenge current practices, and influence stakeholders across the organization. You'll be a key advisor, shaping ATB's risk culture and optimizing our risk-reward paradigm.

Accountabilities

Responsibilities Include

  • Overseeing Banking Book Financial Risk Oversight, Enterprise Market Risk Oversight & Reporting for the Top of the House /Aggregated Trading Book, and Aggregate ATB Financial FRM Reporting.
  • Leading the Strategic Delivery team for FRM technology and data initiatives.
  • Developing, monitoring, and reporting exceptions to ATB policies to mitigate market risk.
  • Acting as a "model business owner" for key FRM models (e.g., VaR, SVaR) and a "model business user" for FO pricing/risk models.
  • Ensuring aggregate market risk exposures remain within the calibrated limit framework.
  • Building out oversight frameworks for Banking Book financial risk management (IRRB, CSRBB, EaR, VaR, PV01, NII, EVE, elasticity & beta) to include stress testing.
  • Developing and managing a centralized FRM-wide report production function.
  • Conducting financial risk portfolio analysis for senior management.

Skills, Experience & Requirements

What you bring:

  • Master's degree in finance, mathematics, or statistics (PhD preferred).
  • 10-15 years of experience in market risk and leadership.
  • Expert-level knowledge of modeling mortgage options, non-linear risk, duration, and key rate durations within Asset/Liability risk measurement.
  • CFA accreditation is a plus.
  • Direct experience managing Treasury and Derivative functions with an emphasis on Market Risk Management.
  • Strong familiarity with sophisticated deal capture and reporting systems.
  • Excellent understanding of market risk analytics, policies, and disciplines.
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence and communication skills to influence and educate at all organizational levels.
  • This is an Executive 4 level position that requires autonomy, strategic thinking, and the ability to integrate and manage diverse functions. You'll play a critical role in ATB Financial's growth journey and its ongoing commitment to robust risk management.
