The shift pattern for this post is 30 hours per week over 4 days Monday to Friday.

Please note the salary is pro rata for part time hours.

If so, we are looking for an enthusiastic Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker to join our Orthopaedic outpatient

department team at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. You will be working as a Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker providing and assisting with the care of patients attending the department all with a variety of Orthopaedic conditions /needs in the outpatient setting. This patient group facilitates the nursing team with diverse development prospects with excellent opportunities to develop knowledge and skills.

The ideal candidate will possess good communication skills and work well within a multi disciplinary team

environment. You will utilise a broad range of knowledge and skills in assisting with the delivery of care to patients within the department.

Some skills you would be utilising within the department would be:

  • Simple wound care
  • Venepuncture/Cannulation
  • Application/removal of slings & casts
  • Assisting in the plaster room

Training will be provided for all skills/tasks mentioned.

Within the department we offer a comprehensive programme of education and support to enhance your

development within the specialty. You will demonstrate a willingness to undertake ongoing in service training in

order to gain competency in areas pertinent to your role. Experience working in a healthcare setting is desirable.
