Agilus is recruiting for a Turnaround Planner/Scheduler in the Oil and Gas industry in a hybrid work environment in Calgary, Alberta.
Reporting to the Program Manager – Capital Maintenance & Turnarounds, the Turnaround Scheduler/Planner will support turnaround coordination by contributing to the planning and scheduling of turnaround activities. This role involves close collaboration with operations and other key stakeholders to develop and review work packages, schedules, and resource plans. The Scheduler/Planner will also be responsible for establishing and implementing project controls and monitoring systems to ensure alignment with project scope and schedule objectives
A typical day:
- Responsible for preparing and maintaining detailed schedules for integrity inspections, repairs, construction, and related projects
- Ensures alignment of project schedules with the company’s standardized Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
- Effectively prioritizes, plans, develops, and schedules multi-trade turnaround maintenance, integrity, and capital project activities
- Develops the foundational schedule basis to support turnaround planning and execution
- Coordinates with third-party contractors and stakeholders to ensure execution aligns with the approved plan, recommending corrective actions when deviations occur
- Prepares detailed execution plans for each designated work area within the turnaround scope, ensuring clarity and alignment with project objectives
- Maintains an up-to-date inventory of turnaround projects, including investment, maintenance, and integrity initiatives and develops and monitors critical path activities for shutdown, turnaround, and restart phases to ensure timely execution
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to collect accurate cost data and deliver comprehensive cost estimates for turnaround projects
Requirements:
- Engineering degree or technical certificate/diploma in an applicable discipline, and eligible for registration in Alberta and Saskatchewan with 10+ years of experience supporting turnaround/shutdown events
- Expert level user of Microsoft Project/Primavera (P6)
- Proficiency in project management software, cost estimation tools, and scheduling software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with handling several assignments, managing a diverse range of stakeholders/contractors, and prioritize demands and workload are key competencies
