Reporting to the Lead Miller – This is the entry level position in the milling department and the first steep in stating a career in oat milling. This role will be responsible for assisting the milling team in their day to day duties as well as backfilling positions when there are vacations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in all oat milling manufacturing systems.
- Perform minor repairs as needed.
- Test products to ensure quality standards are met.
- Complete documentation in accordance with all policies and procedures.
- Execute the sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOP).
- Conduct thorough cleaning and sanitizing of production equipment before operations begin to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for food production.
- Operate computerized robotic packaging equipment.
- Operates in accordance with all food safety and employee safety requirements.
- Participate in all in-house relevant training.
- Participate in a respectful work environment where employees can bring forward not only ideas and improvements but concerns of all nature, including safety.
- Maintain cleaning standards in all areas of the mill.

- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Experienced in or knowledge of food production is an asset.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically capable of lifting 25KG.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with computer systems including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Able to work in a processing environment (steam processing, heights, no dust allergies).
- Able to complete respirator fit testing.
Hours:
- Full-time position, 84 hours biweekly
- Monday to Sunday rotating 12-hour shifts on a Panama schedule
- Overtime may be required during peak periods
Pay: $24 per hour
