Field Service Technician is responsible for installing, demonstrating, maintaining and troubleshooting TRUMPF CNC machines for the TRUMPF Machine Tool division, Laser machines as well as connected Automation and Storage Systems) with minimum assistance.
Field Service Responsibilities
Must be located, or ability to relocate, within 45 minutes of a major International Airport
100% travel required, both internationally and domestically
Perform extensive travel as needed, including but not limited to Monday through Friday
Some weekend work as needed
Experience/Education
BASED IN CANADA – PREFER SOMEONE LOCATED IN MONTREAL (QUEBEC) AREA
Field Service Technician is responsible for installing, demonstrating, maintaining and troubleshooting TRUMPF CNC machines for the TRUMPF Machine Tool division, Laser machines as well as connected Automation and Storage Systems) with minimum assistance.
Field Service Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair TRUMPF equipment with high quality.
- Demonstration and Train customers in use and repair of TRUMPF machines in a complete and organized manner.
- Travel up to 100%. Travel includes regional, national and international travel.
- Complete basic retrofits, software installations and customer training
- Troubleshoot and remedy complex issues
- Work independently to resolve technical problems and maintain good relationship to customers
- Use relevant electrical measuring tools efficiently for trouble shooting
- Submit required weekly TRUMPF reports in a complete and organized manner.
- Assist other Field Engineers as directed.
- Participate in training lasting approximately 6 months with on-going training on existing and new products each year.
- Must be able to lift 70 pounds without aid.

Experience/Education
- Two-years technical school degree in Engineering principles or a suitable combination of education and work experience. Also, experience in computer software/file management is of advantage.
- 2 or more years of experience in technical service, field service, repair or customer service required
- Strong electrical and computer systems experience and high level of diagnostic skills
- Previous experience with robotics, lasers, automation systems or mechatronics.
- Previous experience with hand tools and measurement tools
- Must have strong problem-solving and excellent organization skills
