Position Information
The Coordinator 2, Employee Scheduling is the key contact for TOH leaders within a designated portfolio for their employee scheduling needs. The Coordinator provides scheduling/staffing advisory support to stakeholders to develop solutions to complex staffing challenges. The Coordinator is responsible for all advanced scheduling tasks including; developing and maintaining master schedules, collecting staff availability information and requests for time off, developing and communicating rotations, all of which must be done in compliance with the applicable Collective Agreements and in accordance with the governing Service Partnership Agreement.
The Coordinator supports leaders with position management related to staff movement. This role also supports in providing daily direct direction to the Staffing Assistant(s) that support their specified portfolio, including assistance with more complex items/queries/challenges.

Rotation/Shifts

- Two-Year Community College Diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources, or equivalent
- Three (3) years of previous experience in computerized staff scheduling in a complex, unionized environment, preferably in healthcare;
- One (1) year of Lead/Coordinator experience in a Healthcare Services/unionized environment;
- In-depth knowledge of scheduling language in the applicable Collective Agreements;
- Knowledge of scheduling systems and scheduling employees in a complex, unionized, 24/7 environment ;
- Knowledge of position management and position control;
- Demonstrated organizational skills;
- Demonstrated knowledge of the scheduling system;
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills;
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and a client-centric approach;
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and calmly handle conflict situations;
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and handle significant deadline pressures;
- Ability to train, guide the work of others and provide feedback;
- Demonstrated ability and superior knowledge of computer applications (e.g. UKG, PeopleSoft, Word, Excel).
- Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
- Familiar with TOH programs (i.e. knowledge of hospital policies, familiarity with the function, performance and complexity of each department and how they relate/affect one another)
