Position Summary
Microserve is looking for an Audio-Visual Technician to join our team in Edmonton, AB. The Audio-Visual Technician will be able to work with our clients to support their AV requirements. The successful candidate will gain experience in multiple enterprise sized client environments, addressing new tasks and requests each day. Main responsibilities include performing installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to: pulling cable and cable management, installing connectors, mounting projectors, mounting equipment to walls and under tables, hanging heavy items from various structures.

Position Summary
Microserve is looking for an Audio-Visual Technician to join our team in Edmonton, AB. The Audio-Visual Technician will be able to work with our clients to support their AV requirements. The successful candidate will gain experience in multiple enterprise sized client environments, addressing new tasks and requests each day. Main responsibilities include performing installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to: pulling cable and cable management, installing connectors, mounting projectors, mounting equipment to walls and under tables, hanging heavy items from various structures.
Responsibilities
- Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors along with various other AV systems related tasks
- Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
- Perform installation tasks in a timely manner
- Projector and screen support structure installations
- AV rack wiring
- Test point to point functionality of systems
- Review equipment list with customer upon delivery
- Travel to various job sites as required
- Use of a laptop to troubleshoot and upload/download system programming
- Other duties assigned as needed
- Effectively and respectfully communicate with employees, customers and colleagues
- Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner
- Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
- Basic computer knowledge and understanding of IP addressing and communications
- Knowledge of signal flow for audio, video and control
- 2+ years of audiovisual installation experience required
- Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Additional Assets (not required):
- InfoComm CTS General Certification
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Course
- Extron AV Associate Certification
- Crestron Professional Installation Certification
- AMX Intro to Networking for AV Professionals
- Valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle (mileage is paid)
- Able to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Able to work with basic handheld tools
- Must be able to lift 60+ lbs.
- Must be able to pass a criminal record check
