Who- the Company:
Our client is an international company with a long history. This organization hires people who are self-motivated and collaborative team-players who can also work autonomously.
What- the Role:
Our client is seeking a new Talent Advisor who will work closely with a People & Culture team spanning North America and who will support employees and managers across Canada.
This role entails a blend of the following:
Talent Acquisition: posting jobs, sourcing and screening talent, liaising with hiring managers and candidates, providing an excellent candidate experience, making and negotiating job offers, declining non-shortlisted candidates in a respectful and timely manner, etc.
International Mobility & Employee Relocation: as this company has multi-national operations, there is a fair bit of relocation of employees who move internally to different offices as well as the hiring of external candidates to various countries. The Talent Advisor will be responsible for advising on International immigration programs (work permits, work visas, LMIAs, permanent residency, etc.). They will also be a liaison with key external advisors such as immigration lawyers and immigration consultants. The Talent Advisor will be responsible for tracking application processes, creating and maintaining templates and checklists related to International mobility, and keeping individuals and hiring teams informed as to status of relocations.
Talent Advisory & Employee Relations: when not too busy with talent acquisition and International mobility, the Talent Advisor will also support the business with employee relations within Canada. This will involve coaching managers on performance matters, contributing to HR projects and programs to increase employee engagement, supporting HR policy creation, supporting occasional HR investigations, and providing guidance on employment law interpretation.
The Talent Advisor will be using an HRIS and an ATS, and plenty of other tools such as the full MS Office Suite.
Who- the Candidate:
On behalf of our client, Swim Recruiting is seeking candidates with at least 5 years’ relevant and progressive work experience. We anticipate the candidates most aligned to this role will be folks who have been recruiters for several years and who, in recent years, have started taking on HR responsibilities and actively pursuing HR education.
- Full-cycle recruitment experience, including sourcing/headhunting.
- Understanding of BC and Canadian employment law is required.
- Experience with employee relations for BC-based employees.
- Relevant Education- Undergraduate degree is required, followed by HR-related professional development or education such an HR certificate, HR diploma, or CPHR certification.
- Experience working for a global company is preferred but not required.
- Qualified candidates will be proficient in the MS Office Suite and will have hands-on experience using an ATS and/or HRIS.
- In terms of soft skills, we are looking for someone who is self-motivated, professional, friendly, organized, resourceful, reliable, articulate, and passionate about working with a tightknit and high-performance People & Culture team.
How Much:
Competitive base salary, commensurate with relevant experience, education, and skills- likely in the range of $80,000 to $100,000, with a sweet spot of $85,000 to $90,000. There is a performance-based bonus program. This company provides employees with health & dental benefits, relevant professional development support (for CPHR studies and exams, for example), etc.
Where:
Vancouver. After fully on-site onboarding and training, the Talent Advisor can work on a hybrid schedule with a minimum 3 days/week in office.
