Position Overview

At Kiewit, we are committed to excellence and high-quality production. We are currently seeking an Electrical Quality Specialist to support our quality program and ensure electrical systems and installations meet project and industry standards on our nuclear construction projects.

District Overview

Kiewit Energy Canada, headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, is a major industrial contractor involved in oil sands processing, refinery expansions, gas plant expansions, co-generation facilities, and nuclear construction projects.

Location

We are looking for Electrical Quality Specialists in Alberta. Kiewit offers career mobility based on available work, development plans, and individual goals.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and apply the project’s Quality Management System, work instructions, and procedures specific to electrical systems.
  • Ensure electrical work complies with technical requirements defined by drawings, specifications, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and procedures.
  • Complete checklists at hold/witness points as required by electrical ITPs.
  • Develop and implement inspection and test plans and procedures for electrical installations.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of the electrical quality plan for assigned areas.
  • Collaborate with construction supervisors, planners, and subcontractors to implement the electrical quality system.
  • Generate quality reports and metrics related to electrical work.
  • Conduct training on project-specific electrical quality processes and requirements.
  • Inspect field conditions, identify issues, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain project quality records related to electrical systems.
  • Report and assist in resolving electrical non-conformance and rework issues.
  • Interpret electrical construction codes and standards.
  • Identify and mitigate electrical safety hazards.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field or Journeyman Electrician.
  • Working knowledge of electrical codes and standards (CEC, IEEE, NFPA 70E, CSA, etc.).
  • Familiarity with electrical testing techniques and special processes.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Commitment to safety and quality.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada. #LI-GH
