This role is based out of Oakville, ON with frequent travel to bowling centres across Canada (primarily Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia).

Here’s some of what you can expect as part of the role…

  • Provide strategic leadership across all centers to drive operational excellence and business growth.
  • Foster a high-performance culture built on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Align regional operations with overall company strategy through clear communication and active team engagement.
  • Coach and develop center leaders, building growth plans based on performance and potential.
  • Drive financial performance by optimizing revenue streams and controlling costs across all regions.
  • Build and manage annual budgets with a focus on sustainability, profitability, and accuracy.
  • Consistently outperform regional P&L targets through effective planning and execution.
  • Ensure a positive return on all strategic capital investments.
  • Leverage data and KPIs (GPs, SPG, etc.) to monitor and improve operational effectiveness.
  • Deploy payroll and labor resources efficiently in line with seasonal demand and business need.
  • Uphold high operational standards and ensure compliance with all internal guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintain a sharp focus on health & safety, ensuring full compliance across all locations.
  • Drive center presentation and technical excellence to industry-leading standards.
  • Create a customer-centric environment, ensuring consistently high service levels across all sites.
  • Monitor and act on customer feedback to enhance guest experience and retention.
  • Set and track ambitious sales targets; recognize and reward top-performing teams.
  • Identify and implement growth opportunities within sales and events functions.
  • Lead talent development efforts, ensuring recruitment, training, and succession planning are prioritized.
  • Partner with HR to build and maintain a robust talent pipeline across all roles and levels.
  • Address employee relations matters effectively, reinforcing company values and standards.

The Who…

The be a successful Director of Operations, you’ll have:

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience within the hospitality industry, with a proven track record of delivering against personal and financial objectives.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a similar role as Director or VP of Operations
  • Post secondary degree/diploma in Sales, Marketing or Hospitality Management considered an asset
  • In-depth working knowledge of the leisure or retail industries.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire others to achieve exceptional results.
  • Proven track record of driving growth in a similar role, and experience scaling operations in rapidly growing company
  • Excellent communicator, with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to juggle multiple competing priorities
  • An analytical approach to identifying trends and opportunities
  • Strong sense of urgency and understanding on how best to focus the company’s resources on the achievement of a short- or long-term objective.
  • Experience and understanding of dealing with a variety of people related issues as well as initiating, driving, and coordinating the people agenda across the business
  • Track record of success in strategic leadership in a multi-site environment.
  • Able to demonstrate a broad knowledge of key techniques in sales and marketing, operational support and talent management.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for technology and a belief in its importance for a progressive consumer-facing employer.
  • Organized and disciplined approach to project management.
  • Strong team ethics and proactive leadership approach.
  • Motivated by innovation and meeting challenging objectives.
  • Confident in managing the performance of others.
