Scotiabank is undertaking a large-scale enterprise-wide initiative to accelerate personalization capabilities across our digital and marketing stack. This includes targeted propensity-driven lists, intelligent marketing journeys, and optimized sales conversion funnels. As Tech Lead within the Engineering function of the PEGA CDH MarTech Application team, you will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering scalable, real-time personalization logic across our enterprise ecosystem. You’ll collaborate with architects, data scientists, and campaign teams to build intelligent decisioning frameworks that span multiple platforms including PEGA CDH, Adobe Experience Platform, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

In This Role You Will

  • Lead the technical design and implementation of real-time personalization strategies across multiple MarTech platforms.
  • Architect and optimize Next-Best-Action (NBA) logic, engagement policies, and treatments using PEGA CDH and complementary tools.
  • Guide the development of adaptive and predictive models, ensuring alignment with business goals and ethical AI practices.
  • Support the orchestration of decisioning outputs across channels and platforms (e.g., AJO, SFMC, CRM, web, mobile).
  • Collaborate with marketing, data science, and engineering teams to translate personalization goals into scalable technical solutions.
  • Define and enforce engineering best practices, including CI/CD, code quality, and performance monitoring.
  • Mentor engineers and consultants, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive experimentation and optimization through A/B testing, model tuning, and personalization analytics.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy regulations (e.g., PIPEDA, GDPR), and responsible AI standards.
  • Maintain system protocols and documentation to support operational excellence and risk management.
  • Champion cross-functional collaboration and influence strategic decisions across personalization initiatives.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • 6+ years of experience in marketing/GTM journey and arbitration decisioning systems, with at least 4 years extensively using Pega CDH.
  • Deep expertise in Journey Designer, Next-Best-Action Designer, Engagement Policies, Adaptive Models, and Prediction Studio.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
  • Familiarity with data flows, REST APIs, and real-time orchestration
  • Proven experience in designing and deploying real-time decisioning solutions in a B2C financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of customer lifecycle marketing, campaign orchestration, and omnichannel personalization.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including marketing, data science, compliance, and IT.
  • Pega certifications such as CPDC (Certified Pega Decisioning Consultant) are highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., PIPEDA, GDPR) and ethical AI practices.
  • Experience with Adobe’s MarTech offering including AJO, Adobe RT-CDP, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud (nice to have)
