About The Company

At Scribd (pronounced “scribbed”), our mission is to spark human curiosity. Join our team as we create a world of stories and knowledge, democratize the exchange of ideas and information, and empower collective expertise through our three products: Everand, Scribd, and Slideshare.

We support a culture where our employees can be real and be bold; where we debate and commit as we embrace plot twists; and where every employee is empowered to take action as we prioritize the customer.

When it comes to workplace structure, we believe in balancing individual flexibility and community connections. It’s through our flexible work benefit, Scribd Flex, that employees – in partnership with their manager – can choose the daily work-style that best suits their individual needs. A key tenet of Scribd Flex is our prioritization of intentional in-person moments to build collaboration, culture, and connection. For this reason, occasional in-person attendance is required for all Scribd employees, regardless of their location.

So what are we looking for in new team members? Well, we hire for “GRIT”. The textbook definition of GRIT is demonstrating the intersection of passion and perseverance towards long term goals. At Scribd, we are inspired by the potential that this can unlock, and ask each of our employees to pursue a GRIT-ty approach to their work. In a tactical sense, GRIT is also a handy acronym that outlines the standards we hold ourselves and each other to. Here’s what that means for you: we’re looking for someone who showcases the ability to set and achieve Goals, achieve Results within their job responsibilities, contribute Innovative ideas and solutions, and positively influence the broader Team through collaboration and attitude.

About The Role

Scribd is looking for an experienced bi-lingual Editorial Manager to lead the strategy and execution of our editorial merchandising and blog programs for English and Spanish-speaking markets. This role is central to how we surface compelling content across product and marketing channels, delivering work that’s timely, brand-aligned, and rooted in both storytelling and performance.

You’ll oversee editorial planning across in-app surfaces, web, and blog content, ensuring consistent cadence and alignment with campaigns, partner goals, and audience needs. This is a highly cross-functional role, partnering closely with Brand, SEO, Product, and Content teams, while owning the systems, workflows, and metrics that keep editorial running smoothly.

About The Team

Scribd’s Marketing team connects readers with the stories, voices, and ideas that matter most, through ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, and original content. Editorial plays a key role in this mission, surfacing timely, relevant, and thoughtfully curated content that reflects our brand, elevates our partners, and enhances the reader experience. You’ll join a collaborative, fast-moving team that values creativity, clarity, and strategic thinking, and help shape how we bring storytelling to life across our platform.

About You

You’re a storyteller at heart, with a sharp editorial eye and a knack for spotting what resonates. You understand how content shapes perception and builds connection, not just in what we say, but how and where it shows up. You think strategically about voice, audience, and context, and know how to scale that thinking across surfaces and teams. You care deeply about quality and clarity, and bring a thoughtful, collaborative approach to everything you create. You’re also organized and dependable, comfortable owning complex editorial workflows from planning through delivery.

You Will

  • Lead the editorial calendar and manage refresh cycles across Everand’s merchandising and blog surfaces
  • Own content planning and execution, ensuring alignment with campaigns, brand voice, and audience needs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Brand, Social, Product, Lifecycle) to integrate strategic priorities
  • Manage editorial workflows, tooling, and documentation for efficiency and visibility
  • Monitor editorial performance and use data to inform content decisions and surface optimizations
  • Coordinate with contractors, writers, and creative partners to deliver high-quality content at scale

You Have

  • 5–8 years of experience in editorial planning, content operations, or merchandising, ideally within a consumer, media, or SaaS company
  • Strong content workflow and project management skills, with experience using tools like Airtable, Google Workspace, and Slack
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and their role in editorial content strategy
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A data-informed mindset and comfort working with performance and engagement metrics
  • Experience managing freelancers, editorial vendors, or external content contributors

Bonus Points If You

  • Have worked on content merchandising within a product or app ecosystem
  • Are familiar with publishing partnerships or campaign-based content planning
  • Have exposure to ML-assisted or AI-generated content tools
