The impact you'll make:
You are a visual maker at heart. You’ve mastered motion, stills and editing and are looking for a place to be able harness all of the above, working with our amazing creative team to bring Saje’s brand of modern wellness to life with an eye for narrative storytelling, design and speed to scale.
You have a killer portfolio of short-form, long-form, brand-led pieces of film and ideally have an eye for shooting and producing stills.
The Brand Content Director, Creator & Editor role is a highly creative and hands on role in our Toronto office and will work directly with creative teams to ideate, create and produce a multitude of brand storytelling pieces to maximize growth and performance.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end production and capture of high quality, compelling visual content, including video and photography, to support our brand storytelling, marketing campaigns and digital presence. You are fluent in editing, motion graphics, sourcing music, stock and all the things that can help to build brand work - fast. You are entrepreneurial, independent and naturally look to solve problems. A self-starter, you are highly organized and thrive in a fast paced, creative company, where iteration is key.
The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, is independent and detail oriented, curious and loves to push boundaries, while having expertise across all stages of photo/video shooting and editing. This is a 6 month fixed term contract role.

What you'll do:
Video Direction & Production (Shooting & Editing)
- Plan, direct and execute video shoots as a partner to creative team(s), including setting up lighting, audio and camera equipment when necessary.
- Video editing including cutting, splicing, motion graphics, visual effects and music.
- Colour correction/colour pass on video footage, audio mixing and sound design.
- Optimize and version content for various platforms (ecomm, social media, YouTube, etc).
- Plan and execute photo shoots with a focus on evergreen brand photography (e.g. product application, in-situ, how-to’s etc) and ecommerce content (both in studio and on location).
- Operate professional photography equipment (not shying away from occasional phone capture), including setting up lighting and camera equipment.
- Photo editing and retouching with industry-standard software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom etc). Work with creative team to flesh out shot lists
- Collaborate with the creative team, including art directors, graphic designers, and copywriters, to execute visually engaging designs for marketing campaigns.
- Research and stay current with industry trends and best practices in video and photography to propose innovative editing solutions.
- Adhere to established campaign look & feel, brand guidelines and visual standards.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines to ensure timely delivery of high-quality designs.
- Contributes to a team environment where all Team Members consistently experience a sense of belonging and inclusion.
- Degree in videography, film, digital media, photography or a related field.
- Experience as an editor/photographer/videographer within an agency, production company, in-house creative team or freelance.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating photo, video capture and editing.
- Expert proficiency in industry-standard video editing (e.g. Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro etc) and professional photo editing software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom etc).
- Experience with motion graphics (e.g. Adobe After Effects).
- Professional knowledge of camera operation, equipment and lighting, audio recording for both video and still photography.
- Strong understanding of best practices for high-performing ecommerce/digital content and social forward content/editing.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with creative + cross-functional teams, and articulate concepts and ideas.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
