Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Senior Financial Accountant will collaborate on all activities related to accounting and the preparation of financial reports for the Dealer Services division. This person will play a key role in optimizing process efficiency and participating in challenging projects with strategic scope.

Main Responsibilities

  • Participate in projects carried out jointly with other departments, particularly for the issuance of new products and to address certain regulatory changes.
  • Support internal and external partners with their accounting needs.
  • Understand, review, recommend, and update accounting processes and related internal controls.
  • Develop and implement solutions to resolve accounting discrepancies and other financial challenges encountered.
  • Participate in the production of financial statements, management reports, and quarterly, semi-annual, and annual regulatory reports within the required deadlines.
  • Respond to requests from internal and external auditors, including producing reconciliations and negotiating technical issues.
  • Account for and reconcile transactions for certain products and components of various partnership agreements in close collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ensure the accuracy of reports produced by systems and those that must be prepared manually.
  • Prepare product valuation reports in collaboration with the actuarial department, including recording the corresponding journal entries.
  • Produce financial reports related to reinsurance agreements, profit sharing and any other partnership agreements.
  • Review accounting entries and payments prepared by other members of the accounting team.
  • Ensure that financial reports comply with IFRS standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

Required Profile

  • CPA with more than 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Good knowledge of IFRS standards or a clear desire to master them.
  • Experience working with internal and external partners.
  • Experience in insurance and reinsurance (an asset).
  • Experience in auditing, taxation, and taxes (an asset).
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Windows suite.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP and Hyperion (an asset).
  • Analytical skills, effective communication, curiosity, team spirit, and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to work independently in a constantly changing environment while remaining organized and efficient under pressure.

Compensation

The typical hiring range for this position is from $100,000 and $135,000 annually; it is based on location and may vary depending on skills, job-related knowledge, experience, and internal equity.
