Responsibilities


The Communications Coordinator (Digital Marketing) will facilitate the development, execution, and optimization of data-driven digital marketing campaigns to support the growth and success of Western Continuing Studies. The role exists to enhance digital engagement, improve marketing ROI, and strengthen Western Continuing Studies brand presence across web, email, and social media platforms. The role will drive program awareness, lead generation, and enrollment through strategic use of content, automation, analytics, and channel management. The Communications Coordinator will enhance strategic growth through research, data, and reporting practices. The role will protect, promote, and enhance the reputation of the University and its people by delivering creative, concise, accurate information that is consistent with all of Western's applicable guidelines.

Qualifications


Education:
  • 3 year college diploma or Undergraduate Degree in Communications, Marketing or a related field required

Experience:
  • 2 years of experience in digital communications and/or marketing, with an emphasis on data analytics required
  • Experience in a post-secondary environment preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficiency with SaaS marketing and analytics tools (e.g., HubSpot, Campaign Monitor, Google Analytics, Excel)
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, including email automation, A/B testing, and performance measurement
  • Ability to create engaging written and visual content across digital platforms, including proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and basic HTML/CSS
  • Ability to interpret internal data to inform marketing decisions and improve campaign outcomes
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to support cross-functional teams and external partners
  • Ability to apply creativity and recommend strategies for engagement initiatives in response to cultural and social trends
  • Attention to detail and proofreading abilities with an excellent command of the English language
  • Discretion, tact and maturity to deal with public relations issues related to higher education
  • Interpersonal skills to liaise with prospective and current students, staff, faculty and other members of the Western community
  • Ability and propensity to use judgment and re-evaluate decisions when presented with new information
  • Multi-tasking skills to prioritize and consistently produce high-quality work within deadlines
  • Proven ability to build both formal and informal professional relationships within, across, and external to organizational boundaries
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively and actively contribute in meetings and in team settings
  • Familiarity with University policies and procedures preferred
