We are currently seeking a highly organized and experienced Paralegal to join our Estates team in Charlottetown. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our lawyers in delivering efficient and compassionate service to our clients.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES- Prepare and review estate planning documents, including wills, powers of attorney, and health care directives;
- Organize and update and client estates files, including maintaining wills and records according to guidelines;
- Act as a liaison between lawyers, clients and other firms, as well as internal departments and external affiliates including government departments as requested;
- Assume responsibility for file and document management according to firm guidelines;
- Record all billable and non-billable functions daily;
- Other related duties as required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a legal setting.
- A highly motivated self-starter who has the ability to work well both autonomously and in a team environment.
- A commitment to the highest standards of integrity, client service and collegiality.
- Attention to detail, proven organizational skills and an effective communicator.
Cox & Palmer provides a competitive compensation and benefits package including:
- Wage range: $45,000–$58,000, based on experience.
- Health, dental, life, and disability insurance; Employee Assistance Program; health and fitness allowance.
- Group Registered Savings Plan (RSP).
