Your impact
The energy industry, particularly transmission grids, is undergoing major changes to accommodate for regional and global decarbonization and energy transition targets. In addition, and with the increasing number of large loads such as Data Centers, the role of transmission planners is more important than ever in shaping the grid of the future.
As a transmission planning and studies engineer, you will closely work with regional and global power systems teams to support and/or lead ongoing projects as well as business development and proposal support with a number of utility clients focused in the Northeast US.
The successful candidate shall demonstrate related experience and technical knowledge in transmission planning and bulk system studies, planning processes and good handle over FERC, NERC and NPCC standards and processes as well as direct experience with at least one of the following ISOs ISO-NE, NYISO, PJM, and/or IESO. Strong background and experience in performing system impact studies and transmission planning using PSS/E, TARA, and PSCAD is a must.
This position is flexible anywhere in North America. However, preference would be given to candidates located in Northeast including New York, Boston, Toronto or Philadelphia.

Responsibilities Include
- Perform a variety of steady-state and transient power system studies.
- Participate in meetings with utilities as part of project delivery or business development.
- Lead or support project(s) throughout the whole lifecycle (i.e. from the technical bid/proposal to execution, reports, client meetings/presentations, to close-out).
- Work closely with the team members across North America and globally.
- Participate in ISO/RTO stakeholder forums and other applicable technical committees and stay up to date with latest standards and requirements. #epjobs #naepjobs
- Advanced degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering, from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 4 years of direct experience with power system studies using PSS/E, TARA and/or PSCAD.
- Strong background with at least one of the following system operators ISO-NE, NYISO, PJM, IESO.
- Up to date knowledge and experience with NERC, FERC, and NPCC reliability standards.
- Team player with great interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel within North America.
- Direct experience with National Grid and/or Eversource.
- Experience with large loads such as data centers.
- Professional Engineer (PE or PEng) License.
