We are currently seeking a full-time PharmacyTechnician to join our team in Burnaby.

Rate of pay: Minimum $25/hr and higher based on level of work experience and if regulated by the BC College of Pharmacists.

Schedule

• 37.5 hours per week (5 days/week)
• Business hours are Monday to Friday 8 am – 4 pm (Shifts are 7am-3pm, and 8am-4pm). Closed weekends and statutory holidays.
• Available to work on statutory holidays (on an on-call rotational basis) if needed
• Must be flexible to adapt to possible changes in work schedule in future based on business needs, potentially including evenings and weekends
  
  

Job Description

• Maintain inventory of sufficient supplies in dispensary to meet compounding demands.
• Prepare, process, dispense, and compound intravenous admixtures of antibiotics, total parenteral nutrition and other orders as per defined work instructions.
• Pick, inspect, verify, and disinfect all components against the order sheet to be used for compounding.
• Enter and program infusion pump parameters to be verified by the pharmacist.
• Perform validation, calibration, and microbiological monitoring and checking.
• Assist in the cleaning of equipment, totes, and work surfaces and maintain facility compliance with Calea standards.
• Maintain and participate in inventory counts
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience working in a pharmacy practice setting.
• IV experience or prior experience in a hospital or outpatient setting ideal, but not required.
• Sound knowledge of aseptic technique an asset.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities under pressure.
• Ability to handle multiple demands made simultaneously under short time constraints.
• Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills
