Our GFL Enviornmental Services (GES) team is expanding, and we’re looking for a Human Resources Generalist! In this role, you’ll be reporting to the Human Resources Manager and play a vital part by supporting labor relations, performance management and the execution of HR initiatives and practices that support the assigned client groups and the overall organization.

A “Day in the Life" of a Human Resources Generalist:
- Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and labor relations while offering confidential support to leaders managing sensitive employee issues.
- Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives by analyzing data trends, improving processes, and reducing turnover.
- Act as the first point of contact for HR inquiries, collaborating with managers to address potential issues proactively.
- Support organizational change initiatives and advise managers on HR policies, programs, and procedures.
- Investigate employee concerns, ensure thorough follow-through, and provide benefits guidance, HRIS support, reporting, and auditing.
- Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field; CPHR designation or actively working towards it.
- 3–5 years of experience in an HR Generalist role, with demonstrated experience in Employee Relations and labor relations issues.
- Able to speak English and French fluently.
- Knowledge of current Labour Laws, Human Rights, and Employment Standards.
- Strong attention to detail, a proven track record of completing project tasks, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently, under pressure, and adapt to evolving priorities and timelines, with a customer-focused and professional attitude.
- Demonstrated ability to support organizational change by building and leveraging professional working relationships, with some travel required (10–15%).
