Civil Construction Project Manager

Location: Maple Ridge, BC

Position Overview -

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Civil Construction Project Manager to oversee all phases of civil construction projects from start to finish. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, plus the ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Coordination
  • Develop detailed project plans covering scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure all requirements are met.
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules to achieve milestones on time.
  • Budget & Cost Management
  • Monitor budgets to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficiency strategies.
  • Review and approve invoices, change orders, and other project-related financial documents.
  • Risk & Compliance Management
  • Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure all work meets codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, safety, and quality standards.
  • Team Leadership
  • Lead and mentor project teams, fostering collaboration and efficiency.
  • Assign responsibilities and monitor team performance.
  • Hold regular progress meetings and provide project updates to clients and senior management.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, contracts, permits, and reports.
  • Utilize project management software to track and report progress.
  • Skills Required
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of civil construction processes and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing large-scale civil construction projects.
  • PMP certification (preferred).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Working Conditions
  • Primarily office-based with site visits as required.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends, when needed.
