Job Description
As a Material Handler, you’ll work as a part of a team to help ensure that the high-quality products get out to our stores, and ultimately our customers, in the most efficient and responsible way possible. Our Material Handler employees are hired to support a multi-shift operation. This means being able to work shifts throughout the day and including weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Abide by Health and Safety standards to ensure a safe working environment
- Participation in cross training of some distribution functions
- Safe operation of power equipment
- Following assigned work schedule, and identifying/reporting variances to Crew Lead
- Verify all merchandise to ensure that it coincides with the paperwork
- Work in and update warehouse management system
- Engagement in duties/special projects
- Participate in team-based decision making as required
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Warehouse employees must be 18 years of age
- Proficient with computers
- Successfully completed high school or equivalent (in Canada or abroad)
- A valid driver's licence and a clean driver's abstract
- Demonstrated competence in power equipment and/or ability to learn new power equipment
- Demonstrates ability to work efficiently and as part of a team
- Able to meet department standards for shift work and physical requirements
- Ability to work at heights of up to 50ft
- Ability to lift, push, pull 22 kgs (50 lbs)
- Ability to walk/stand for up to a 10 hour shift
