Position: Full-time

As a Job Coach, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals who are transitioning into new careers, to successfully integrate into the workforce. You will provide personalized support and guidance to help clients develop necessary skills, secure suitable employment opportunities, and thrive in their chosen fields. This role requires a blend of counseling, mentoring, and practical assistance to clients to achieve their career goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Individualized Coaching: Provide one-on-one coaching and guidance tailored to each client's needs, abilities, and career aspirations.
  • Skills Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients' strengths, weaknesses, skills gaps, and vocational interests.
  • Goal Setting: Collaborate with clients to establish realistic career objectives and develop action plans to achieve them.
  • Job Search Assistance: Assist clients in navigating the job market, including resume writing, job application, interview preparation, and networking strategies.
  • Skill Development: Offer training and support to enhance clients' job-related skills, such as communication, time management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Accommodation Planning: Work with clients and employers to identify and implement reasonable accommodations to support successful job placement and retention.
  • Employer Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with employers to identify job opportunities, advocate for inclusive hiring practices, and facilitate job placements.
  • Follow-Up Support: Provide ongoing support and follow-up services to ensure clients' successful integration into the workplace and address any challenges they may encounter.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of client progress, employment outcomes, and program effectiveness for reporting purposes.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and resources related to vocational rehabilitation, disability services, and employment support.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, vocational rehabilitation, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, job seekers, or in vocational rehabilitation settings is highly desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills to effectively engage with diverse clients and stakeholders.
  • Empathy and Patience: Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to help others overcome barriers to employment and achieve their full potential.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess clients' needs, develop customized solutions, and address challenges effectively.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, multitask, and prioritize workload in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues, employers, community agencies, and other stakeholders to support clients' success.
  • Technology Proficiency: Proficient in using computers, internet research, and software applications for documentation, data management, and job search activities.
  • Ethical Standards: Commitment to upholding professional ethics, confidentiality, and respecting clients' autonomy and dignity.
  • Certification: Certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or similar credential is advantageous but not required.
  • Outstanding teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Security background check required
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to get to job sites within city limits
  • May be required to work evenings and/or weekends
