WHAT ON EARTH IS DECIEM?

Known as “The Abnormal Beauty Company”, DECIEM is the parent company of The Ordinary, NIOD, and other beauty brands & is an industry disruptor with a science first approach to innovation. DECIEM was Co-Founded in 2013 by the late Brandon Truaxe, a visionary who set out to change the beauty industry through authenticity and transparency. He developed DECIEM to be a happy family (of people and beauty brands), rooted in kindness, creativity, diversity, and respect, alongside Co-Founder, Nicola Kilner.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a Head of Brand, New Markets & Icons – Global (1 year contract), who will own the vision and strategy for The Ordinary icons, acting as the brand guardian across all facets of brand and business management. In addition to this, you will also also be the business owner for all new market and channel launches.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Liberty Village Toronto office.

WHAT YOU'D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

  • Own the go-to-market management of integrated Icon campaigns from end to end
  • Create, plan and execute Icon campaigns that drive new and repeat customer acquisition and brand health improvement
  • Build and present strong briefs to creative and downstream teams showing a detailed understanding of all channels and business objectives.
  • Continually gauge competitive landscape and provide clear, relevant and insightful recommendations to ensure The Ordinary remains a disruptive beauty brand
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure expansions are on-brand strategy and result in positive brand equity
  • Own the full expansion from a brand management perspective (across owned, earned, paid, customer experience and retailer partnerships)
  • Coordinate and drive the wider business elements (commercial, doing good, scientific and regulatory)
  • Work closely with both Scientific and Product teams to ensure products are adapted for new market launches
  • Continuously monitor and track performance of brand health and work in the field to understand competitive forces, draw conclusions, and provide insights
  • Bring insights on key retail innovation & trends to the leadership team
  • Ensure all new market/channel launches are culturally relevant and brand equity positive

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • Strong understanding of the beauty industry and consumer sentiment with extensive branding knowledge as related to other industries such as fashion, lifestyle etc. Candidates coming from beauty, skincare or personal goods are preferred.
  • 8+ years working on 360 brand campaigns with at least 5+ years of people management and/or leadership experience is required
  • Proven delivery of successfully integrated, omnichannel brand campaigns
  • Enjoy analyzing data and thinking critically to uncover insights that will help influence business decisions
  • Demonstration of an entrepreneurial spirit with a future-thinking mindset and self - starter motivation
