We are looking for a Technical Services Specialist in 90 Gough Rd #4, MARKHAM, ON L3R 5V5 CAN. Your mission will be to:

The primary responsibilities of this position are to develop, implement, and maintain food safety program for our clients from various industries such as food manufacturing, packaging material manufacturing, distribution centers, and farms within North America.

  • Must have experience in Food Safety and/or Quality Assurance
  • Must have at least 2 years of GFSI Program experience


Job Duties
1. Manage and serve accounts utilizing technical industry expertise.
2. Develop and implement different HACCP models and GFSI programs in various food manufacturing and packaging manufacturing plants
3. Onsite training of plant personnel to understand and apply HACCP/ GFSI system requirements.
4. Training management team and plant employees on various GFSI standards and FSEP HACCP requirements.
5. GAP analysis for food and packaging material manufacturing facilities.
6. Perform internal audit and program reassessment in GFSI/HACCP certified plants.
7. Manage any client issues that may arise and reach resolution within the targeted timelines.
8. Ensure that developed food safety program is current, technically robust and meet current and changing customer and regulatory requirements. Provide technical expertise as applicable.
9. Take initiative and be accountable for maintaining own expertise in food science and related technologies through available scientific literature.
10. Liase with CFIA inspectors/GFSI auditors as the food safety specialist for the client.
11. Perform other related duties as needed.


YOUR PROFILE

  • Must have experience in Food Safety and/or Quality Assurance
  • Must have at least 2 years of GFSI Program experience

The incumbent must have a general knowledge of food science, quality assurance, and auditing principles and practices to accurately perform consulting procedures. Individual must have extensive experience with multiple types of food processing operations to be able to adequately carry out this job. This position requires a broad knowledge of GMP’s, food safety principles, HACCP, GFSI and other relevant government regulations. Consulting experience in food plant, packaging material plant, distribution centers and farms’ setting is necessary to fulfill consulting business and manage direct reports. This position requires self-discipline and organizational skills to ensure that schedule is maintained and consulting is performed correctly. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to manage consultants and communicate directly with customers. Strong computer skills are needed. This position, responsive communication, works autonomously and must deal with situations in a diplomatic and professional manner.


Compensation Range:
65,000 - 75,000 CAD per year
