As a Delivery Driver at Sunterra Market, you are the final link in our promise of quality, care, and convenience. You help bring our vision to life by ensuring that every delivery—whether catering or home grocery—is fresh, accurate, and on time. You’ll delight our customers with exceptional service from store to doorstep, while supporting in-store operations during downtime to keep our market vibrant and well-stocked.
Sunterra will provide the van; you provide outstanding delivery service. This is a dynamic, hands-on role focused on safe driving, customer interaction, and efficient logistics. When not on the road, you’ll assist the Grocery Department with stocking, receiving, and merchandising tasks—helping maintain the high standards our guests expect.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Delivery Operations
  • Safely operate Sunterra’s catering/delivery van to transport grocery and catering orders to residential and business locations.
  • Deliver all catering and home grocery orders with professionalism and care.
  • Ensure all orders are properly packed, organized, and verified before departure.
  • Maintain the delivery van in clean, safe, and working condition.
  • Coordinate supplies needed for catering deliveries and ensure timely execution.
  • Adapt to the unpredictability of daily delivery schedules with flexibility and efficiency.
  • Maintain delivery logs and complete required documentation for each route.

Customer Service
  • Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
  • Surprise and delight customers with consistent, high-quality service.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery times, substitutions, or concerns.
  • Represent Sunterra’s brand and values in all public interactions.

Online Shopping Support
  • Collaborate with the online grocery team to fulfill and organize delivery orders.
  • Ensure accuracy and freshness in every online order.
  • Assist with packing and cross-departmental shopping as needed.

In-Store Grocery Support (During Downtime)
  • Stock shelves and displays, ensuring products are front-facing and visually appealing.
  • Receive and organize deliveries, checking for accuracy and quality.
  • Rotate stock and remove expired or damaged items to maintain freshness.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in storage and sales areas.
  • Support merchandising efforts and seasonal promotions.
  • Assist with Stockperson duties including bagging groceries and walk-outs.

Safety & Sanitation
  • Follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and safe work practices.
  • Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner.

Other Duties
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Customer Service Team Lead, Assistant Managers, or Store Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Previous delivery, grocery, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs (team lift required for heavier items).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • WHMIS and Food Safety Certification required (training provided by Sunterra).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions
  • Frequent driving in urban and suburban areas.
  • Repetitive lifting, bending, and carrying of grocery items.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions and temperature-controlled environments.
  • Use of GPS, mobile delivery apps, and in-store equipment such as ladders and box cutters.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods; working in tight spaces may be required.

Full-time and part-time Team Members will receive a discount of 50% off selected prepared foods when enjoyed in-store (these items vary by location) and a general discount on all groceries in-store and the café!
