Interior Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic Perioperative Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team at Kootenay Lake Regional Hospital in beautiful Nelson, BC.! If you are a Registered Nurse who has completed a recognized Perioperative certification program and has recent related clinical experience, apply today!

The Registered Nurse:
Shifts of work will be scheduled Mon- Fri plus on-call, days and evenings; rotating from 07:00 to 15:00, 07:30 to 15:30, 08:30 to 16:30, 09:30 to 17:30, 11:15 to 18:45, 08:30 to 17:00 hours.
About this location/unit:
Kootenay Lake Hospital’s Operating Room Department has two OR theatres functional Monday to Friday. Types of procedures include: Endoscopy, Major Obs/Gyne, Dental, Ophthalmology/Cataracts, minor Ortho, and minor General Surgery. Up to nine Operating Room RNs circulate/scrub, including a float nurse plus a RN is Daycare Surgery and PAR. The hospital has a strong Obs/Gyne program supported by 24/7 on-call operating room capacity.

The Registered Nurse:
- Provides nursing care to OR patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
- Enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers
- Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice
- Maintains and advances own clinical competence
- Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned
