Position Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a Christ-centered leader with a heart for leadership and supporting diverse learners. The Associate Principal & Learning Strategist is a key educational and spiritual leader at ACA, reporting directly to the Principal and serving as a senior member of the Leadership Team. This unique dual role is split evenly between:
- Associate Principal: Supporting school leadership, staff development, and a vibrant school culture.
- Learning Strategist: Leading targeted student support, including programming for students with Individual Program Plans (IPPs) and English as an Additional Language (EAL) needs.
- Support the Principal in leading the educational program, ensuring alignment with ACA's mission and Alberta Education standards.
- Supervise and support teachers, educational assistants, and divisional administrative staff.
- Promote professional and spiritual growth for staff and students.
- Oversee curriculum review, instructional programming, and compliance with Alberta Education requirements.
- Support scheduling, staffing, budgeting, and policy development.
Learning Strategist (50%)
- Lead and oversee ACA's Learning Support team, including educational assistants.
- Ensure effective implementation, monitoring, and reporting for IPPs and EAL programs.
- Provide coaching and professional development for teachers and EAs in differentiated instruction and targeted supports.
- Coordinate with families and external agencies to ensure high-quality learning supports.
- Maintain student documentation and ensure compliance with Alberta Education guidelines.
- Provide targeted support for individual students or small groups as needed.
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certification.
- Alberta Leadership Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Bachelor of Education (required); Master's Degree in Educational Leadership or related field (asset).
- Previous school leadership experience (Associate Principal, Learning Strategist, or similar) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of targeted student support, IPPs, EAL, and differentiated instruction.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
- Organized, innovative, and collaborative.
- Discreet and professional in handling sensitive information.
- Must align with the mission and vision of ACA
