Job Description:

On behalf of our client, Affinity is seeking an experienced Payroll Lead to join their Workday ERP implementation team. This role will be stepping into a project that has completed the requirements phase and is moving into testing. The successful candidate must have the ability to quickly get up to speed on all requirements, design decisions, and prior deliverables, and then lead the payroll stream confidently through the testing and go-live phases.



Responsibilities:

• Lead the payroll workstream for a Workday ERP implementation currently entering the testing phase.

• Providing leadership for the project consultants and internal subject matter experts and managers of the payroll team

• Rapidly become familiar with all requirements, design decisions, and project documentation to ensure cohesive leadership.

• Guide the payroll stream through testing, issue resolution, go-live, and post-implementation stabilization.

• Collaborate with HR, finance, IT, and change management teams to ensure integration points function seamlessly.

• Identify potential risks, troubleshoot payroll-related system issues, and drive timely resolution.

• Participate in system testing, defect management, configuration reviews, and validation activities.

• Support payroll data conversion efforts and ensure accuracy of historical and current payroll data.

• Provide training and guidance to payroll staff to ensure readiness for transition to production.


Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 full ERP payroll implementation cycles (Workday experience strongly preferred; other ERP experience considered).

• 5+ years of payroll operations and/or payroll project experience.

• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage, coach, and motivate a payroll project team.

• Strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation, compliance, and reporting.

• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across stakeholder groups.

• Consultant mindset with ability to adapt quickly and deliver under tight timelines.
