Talent Acquisition Specialist (12 month contract)


How does the role impact the organization?

The Talent Acquisition Specialist contributes to internal client service excellence through the outreach, assessment and selection of candidates in accordance with our culture and values. The position balances interviews, information dissemination, administration and technical processes, and working in close partnership with the other members of the Human Resources team for onboarding talented people.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the human resources function through employee relations, compensation and benefits, diversity and inclusion and other competitive talent management practices.

What will your role be responsible for?

  • Utilize various channels to source potential candidates, including job boards, social media, and networking events.
  • Conduct initial outreach and engage with candidates to assess their interest and suitability for open positions.
  • Screen resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates.
  • Conduct preliminary interviews to assess candidate qualifications, skills, and cultural fit.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to coordinate and schedule interviews.
  • Assist in the coordination of recruitment-related activities, including job postings and interview scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS).

What do we expect from you?

  • Recruiting and talent acquisition best practices including sourcing; and
  • Microsoft Office with a willingness and ability to learn new applications;
  • Using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS), experience using Taleo is preferred;
  • Work within deadlines in a high-volume and demanding environment while maintaining a high level of service and an imperative attention to detail;
  • Demonstrate advanced face-to-face, email, videoconferencing, and telephone etiquette and relationship management skills;
  • Communicate proficiently in French is an asset; and
  • Work flexible hours in order to support recruitment nationally is preferred.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements

  • At least 1 year recruiting experience, preferably in the financial services industry or in a professional business environment.
