About the role

We are looking for an Accounting Service Representative - Accounting Technician!

Reporting to the Unit Director, Daily Reconciliation of Receivables, within the Accounts Receivable Finance team, the incumbent is primarily responsible for the daily reconciliation of various collection transactions, analysis, and correction of discrepancies.

Working within a team of accountants and agents responsible for monthly reconciliation, the agent collaborates with team members to improve existing processes. They are also directly involved in collaboration, support, and solution-seeking with various operational collection teams, whether in insured collection or broker collection. The agent has the opportunity to develop technical knowledge and participate in various strategic initiatives within the collection or finance department.

What you will do:

  • Ensure the balancing of transactions from various systems and companies with the payments received at the bank.

  • Identify discrepancies and work jointly with collection agents to correct imbalances or errors.

  • Prepare daily reports from different payment sources (internet payment, credit card, etc.) and track problematic or non-reconcilable transactions.

  • Handle diverse tasks on monthly cycles at the beginning or end of the month.

  • Manage the team's email inbox (questions, various requests, debit notices, credit card recharges).

  • Participate in various team projects (e.g., implementation of new accounting or operational systems or process improvements).

  • Submit reclassification requests to the team's accountants.

What you bring to the table:

  • Diploma in accounting (AEC, DEP, DEC, or Bachelor's degree).

  • Knowledge of account reconciliations (an asset).

  • Proficiency in Contact Billing, Classic, Halcion systems (an asset).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI (an asset).

  • Excellent skills in analysis and problem management.

  • Ability to be autonomous and show initiative.

  • Proactive approach in identifying and solving problems.

  • Good ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.

  • Ability to interpret transactions and communicate effectively.

  • No work experience in Canada required, but authorization to work in Canada is necessary.

  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
