We are looking for a Human Resources Coordinator - Contract to join our team!
Reporting to the People and Culture Manager, the Human Resources Coordinator will provide HR and administrative support to the People and Culture team and organization in areas including full-cycle recruitment, benefits administration, employee relations and maintaining employee records and information.
Status: Contract full-time (until May 2027) Note: this posting is for an active vacancy
Salary: $56,667.60 - $67,461.43 annually (Candidate qualifications will be considered when determining the starting salary)
Location: This position is based out of our 601-7700 Hurontario St, Brampton office. Although we operate within a hybrid workplace model, staff are required to have on-site and/or community presence as per program and client needs.
What You Will Do:
- Support employee lifecycle and act as first point of contact for employee and manager requests and inquiries; provide guidance on questions regarding HR-related topics, including leaves, policy interpretation, total rewards and employee relations
- Manage new employee orientation and onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth and welcoming transition for new hires; support employee offboarding and conduct exit interviews
- Support the recruitment processes including posting roles, reviewing resumes, coordinating and conducting interviews, completing reference checks and drafting employment contracts
- Prepare, maintain and update electronic employee files, including new hire files, within the HRIS, as per organizational policies and relevant legislation
- Coordinate with extended benefits systems and/or personnel on any required updates, including new hires, changes and terminations
- Coordinate employee leave management process with employees and external STD and LTD adjudicators
- Ensure that new hire orientation checklists probation documents are completed by Program Manager
- Coordinate, attend, participate in team/staff meetings, and all-staff meetings as required
- Participate in agency quality improvement activities, e.g. accreditation projects, Information Systems Support and Privacy and Security committees, special events, etc.

What You Need to Join Our Team:
- Completion of post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, Business, or related field required
- Minimum of two (2) years supporting a Human Resources department
- Current membership with the Human Resources Professionals Association is an asset
- JHSC certification is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and take initiative when needed
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary shared-care environment
- Experience maintaining online employee records and HRIS; knowledge of BambooHR and ADP is an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Ontario Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Legislation and Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to approach, listen, build trust, and communicate across diverse cultures and intersectionality. Willingness to continually improve understanding around cultural competence.
- Openness to operate from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, 2SLGBTQ+ affirming and intersectional framework.
- Willingness to learn and apply practical understanding of different elements of diversity, such as gender identity/expression, race/cultural background, religion, sexual orientation, disability, immigration and precarious status, family status, etc.
- Fluency in a second language, including ASL (American Sign Language) is considered an asset.
- Ability to travel within and around Peel Region and Dufferin County
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police Check) report.
