The purpose of this role is to support the data and analytics job at Scotiabank’s Global Contact Centres in developing ELT/ETL pipelines to support advanced analytics (AI / ML) capabilities. The primary focus of the role is to work with the Customer Insights & Analytics Team and the Global Data & Analytics Team in conducting ad hoc data analyses, developing data pipelines on airflow to collaborate cross banking team and assisting the MIS & Reporting team with designing and evolving departmental reporting platforms and infrastructure.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

Collaborate with stakeholders to develop BI solutions to address operational needs

  • Combine multiple data sources across all contact center platforms and applications to build end-to-end BI products
  • Define metrics / KPIs and develop customer insights models
  • Assist MIS & Data Analytics team with architecture and infrastructure design / development
  • Apply analytics tooling, scripts, and methodologies to find actionable insights, build operations models & frameworks, and provide strategic recommendations
  • Develop ETLs on both On Prem and Public Cloud for analytics solutions using Python, Spark, DBT, Airflow, Bigquery, SQL, and Power BI
  • Produce ad hoc analyses, deep-dives, and drill downs on specific issues, topics, or areas of opportunity (e.g., process improvements)
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Assist in coaching / developing / up-skilling peers for advanced analytics
  • Streamline, enhance and automate existing products to create capacity for team to develop new solutions

Skills

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • 3+ years business intelligence, analytics, data engineer or data science
  • 2+ years business analysis or direct client relationship role
  • 3+ years reporting, UI design, and BI solutioning
  • 3+ years professional data analysis skills and development skills, and github skills
  • 3+ years using python for data analysis and analytics (Pandas, Numpy, Notebook, etc.)
  • 3+ years using SQL for ETL and data analysis, flexibility on syntax (SQL server, PostgreSQL)
  • collaboration skills with ability to translate technical knowledge into business value
  • Experience with data modelling, data warehousing and database design
  • Experience with Python application development, package management, dependencies, and deployment
  • Experience and understanding of NLP methodologies and tooling
  • Experience with UNIX tools and shell scripting
  • Hands-on experience with Big Data ecosystem tools (e.g., Hadoop, Hive, Spark, BigQuery) and object storage (e.g., blob, MinIO)
  • Experience with Docker, CI/CD tools, and Airflow and Kubernetes an asset
  • Knowledge of strategy optimization leveraging operations research principles an asset
  • Experience with cloud architecture (GCP, Azure, AWS) an asset
  • Contact center experience an asset
  • Experience with telephony data (Avaya, Genesys) and WFM data (Verint, Aspect) an asset
  • French and / or Spanish fluency an asset
