Who you are!
The successful candidate will exhibit keen attention to detail as well as demonstrate the ability to proactively solve problems and seek solutions in an ever-changing environment. This individual must be able to work well in a team-oriented environment and show a willingness to take on tasks as needed. The Mortgage Officer is an evolving role, and requires an individual that is flexible, and prepared to learn new skills.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate and liaise with all parties (internal and external) involved in the completion of each mortgage transaction – including underwriting and accounting.
- Ensure broker expectations and deadlines are met and service level agreements are achieved in real time.
- Manage the execution of the mortgage commitment with an emphasis on clarity relating to any outstanding conditions that need to be resolved prior to funding.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to ensure compliance with all requirements and timely funding disbursement.
- Assist the Head of Underwriting with ongoing documentation/administrative tasks as required (e.g. updating CRM and loan administration software, KYC/AML screening, and managing the mortgage funding queue to assist with cash management)
- Maintain regulatory compliance standards at all times.
Skills Required
- High attention to detail, accuracy and excellent time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent ability to communicate with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
- Proficient with MS Office product suite and e-mail communication.
- Exceptionally organized
- Possess a high level of initiative to produce accurate work in a fast-paced, dead-driven environment.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Fluent in verbal and written English.
- Previous experience within the financial services industry is required; mortgage experience deemed an asset.

Salary: $55,000 - $70,000 (commensurate with experience).

Reporting To: Chief Risk Officer
Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time
Hours of Work: 8:30am-5pm with some flexibility on schedule
