Unit Summary

Corporate Finance is responsible for Treasury, Capital Finance, Non-Labour Planning and Analysis and Administrative and Support Services Program Planning and Analysis. The unit oversees the administration, policy development, accounting and reporting of cash and debt management, encompassing short and long term planning and forecasting; Capital Finance, including budgeting, forecasting and monitoring of equipment and capital projects, and accounting and reporting on fixed assets, and deferred capital contributions; and Financial Planning and Analysis, including overseeing the annual budgeting cycle, business case analysis, financial modelling and providing business program support to non-clinical programs across the Hospital system.

Position Summary

The Treasury Analyst is responsible for supporting the preparation of HHSC’s bank reconciliations to support the confirmation of completeness of the financial statements as part of the year-end audit. The key focus of this role is ensuring that the organization’s accounting system includes the impact of all transactions that hit the organization’s bank accounts.

The Treasury Analyst will be accountable for monthly preparation of the operating bank reconciliation and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to investigate discrepancies in the operating bank general ledger. The Treasury Analyst will also perform a supporting role in the month end close process including processing journal entries in the Meditech financial system. This position reports directly to the Manager, Capital & Treasury within Corporate Finance.

Schedule Work Hours

Monday to Friday; days. This position may be eligible for a hybrid remote work arrangement, in accordance with HHS’ Remote Work Policy.

This is a temporary position until September 2026.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Public Accountant (CPA) designation or CPA program enrollment is preferred
  • Post secondary Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Commerce, Business or Accounting required
  • 2+ years of professional accounting or audit experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Public Sector Accounting Standards
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and follow financial policies, procedures & processes
  • Proven ability to work independently & collaboratively
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to work within changing & tight timelines; ability to organize & establish priorities
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills in Microsoft 365 including Outlook, Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Proficient in organizing, filtering, sorting and extracting data using Excel functions. Experienced in data manipulation and lookup functions. Able to efficiently analyze and match data across spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of Meditech Financial systems, Epic Billing/AR and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central an asset
  • Previous hospital experience an asset

Proficiency in both Official Languages would be an asset.
