Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the safety and performance of crews on various and sometimes challenging projects
  • Leading from the front lines: directing the work and being with your crew at all times
  • Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications to provide clear instructions to the crew
  • Maintaining daily records including crew and equipment time, material receiving, productions, and summary of activity on site
  • Providing training and ensuring the development of the crew
  • Planning ahead with Superintendents to ensure materials and resources are in place ahead of the work
  • Acting as a working foreperson if needed
  • Always working in a safe and respectful manner on company and client job sites
  • Operating as a productive member of a high functioning team

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience leading crews on civil projects
  • Safety knowledge and experience in construction industry (WorkSafe Regulations, industry best practices)
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • First aid is considered an asset
  • Fit to work – ability to see, hear, walk, stand, and lift up to 50lbs
  • Have a positive attitude and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Willing to work in varied weather conditions
  • Willing to work extended hours as needed by project requirements

Compensation:

This is a Unionized position with . This position will earn Union wages and will have access to extended Union healthcare and benefits, a Union-sponsored pension plan, and additional training through the Training Plan. Expected hourly rate: Unionized wage range for this position is $41.06 - $44.30 per hour (based on candidate’s experience), plus 10-12% vacation/statutory holiday pay.
