Brief Position Summary
The position is responsible for the accurate preparation and disbursement of all Class C Solutions Group (CCSG) Canadian payrolls. The Canadian division is comprised of an annual payroll of $12+ million, with approximately 55+ administrative support and warehouse associates, and 165+ Field Sales associates and agents. The payroll specialist is accountable for all payroll related functions including all payroll related tax compliance, tax filings, payroll account reconciliations, benefits administration, MSC Savings Plan administration (DPSP & RSP), and miscellaneous payroll deductions.
DUTIES And RESPONSIBILITIES

The payroll specialist is accountable for all payroll related functions including all payroll related tax compliance, tax filings, payroll account reconciliations, benefits administration, MSC Savings Plan administration (DPSP & RSP), and miscellaneous payroll deductions.
DUTIES And RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurately administer payroll for hourly, salaried, and field sales associates, including special compensation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, rules, regulations, and laws; stay abreast of legal, regulatory, and policy developments affecting areas of responsibility; enforce legal and regulatory requirements impartially. Set up deductions in compliance with court orders for garnishments.
- Review and support internal controls. Maintain CCSG Canada Corporate policies.
- Responsible for the appropriate and accurate reporting of associates’ earnings. Including preparation of T4’s, T4A’s, T2200, and related summary filing to CRA with proper accounting and tax treatment of special circumstances, such as car allowance, relocations, life insurance, stock options, bonuses, MSC Savings Plan, company provided vehicle, and other payments with taxable benefit implications.
- Manage various WCBs (Workers Compensation Boards) across Canada including periodic filings, assessments, and claims invoices.
- Administer MSC Savings Plan, stock purchase, and stock options plans.
- Support all levels of management with analytical information related to payroll expense distribution, working with management to ensure accurate General Ledger expense reporting and reconciliation.
- Collect data and report payroll taxes to Federal and Provincial Governments.
- Perform Payroll Accounting related duties including GL account reconciliations and accrual analysis.
- Support General Accountant through creation of journal entries for all Payroll related items.
- Provide support to all levels of financial management including support through special projects where appropriate.
- A minimum of three years full-cycle Canadian payroll experience
- Certification of CPA Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP)
- University Degree or College Diploma with a major in business preferred
- Knowledge of payroll legislation, Employment Standards, taxation rules and year-end reporting requirements in Canadian provinces.
- Advanced level MS Excel skills and proficient in MS Office applications.
- A solid working knowledge of Ceridian and Crystal Reports. Expertise in SAP is a strong asset.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of discretion, diplomacy, and confidentiality.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills with customer service focus.

- Job takes place in normal office setting, with no known hazardous environment or physical working conditions. The job entails negligible requirements for lifting, bending, and standing.

- Frequent interaction with divisional and Group Office HR and Financial management.
- Frequent interaction with senior management in the Mississauga office.
