Job Overview

We’re seeking a seasoned and proactive Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead our safety and compliance efforts across our Canadian and US operations. This role is critical to ensuring Total Sanitation Services meets and exceeds legislated EHS requirements in every jurisdiction we operate. You’ll support all brands, enhance driver safety training, and lead incident investigations and prevention strategies. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in safety management, particularly in route-based or waste management industries, and be comfortable traveling regularly to our various locations.

Responsibilities


  • Lead EHS compliance across all Canadian and US brands.
  • Ensure driver safety training is effective, consistent, and frequent.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for incidents and near misses; implement corrective actions.
  • Use safety and driver data systems (e.g., MyMomentum, Samsara) to monitor and improve performance.
  • Actively audit operations and engage with service drivers, performing fleet inspections, site audits, and ride alongs.
  • Drive safety and quality for our route drivers, emphasizing fleet inspections and vehicle compliance.
  • Travel to brand locations approximately 33% of the time.
  • Collaborate with leadership to maintain high safety standards and culture.
  • Support onboarding and training of frontline staff with a focus on safety protocols.


Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in a similar EHS role, preferably in waste management or route-based services.
  • Strong background in driver safety training and incident prevention.
  • Experience with safety data systems (MyMomentum, Samsara, or similar).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean abstract.
  • Bilingual candidates and those with petrochemical expertise may be considered at higher compensation levels.
